For those students ready and able to undergo exams this year, parents will be informed. Tap exams are held at the end of Term 2 and ballet exam dates vary with ages. NB. Exams are not compulsory.Â
PARENTS VIEWING CLASS - We unfortunately don’t have viewing windows, however, parents are welcome to sit in your child’s first trial class if they wish. At no other time are parents allowed to sit in on classes unless your teacher has invited you in to do so. Please respect this rule as it is distracting and the teachers get a much better response when parents/guardians are not present in class. An Open Day will be arranged mid-year so you can see your child’s progress.Â
PERFORMANCE GROUPS - Please be aware that you are making a commitment to compete in approximately 3 eisteddfods throughout the year. These usually take place early April, July and mid September and we will notify everybody involved of exact dates as soon as they are released. Some groups may be selected and qualify to compete at Nationals on the Gold Coast which are held mid January. There may be other mid-year performances such as fundraising events, local shows, and we will be sure to give ample notice of dates. Please advise well in advance if you have holidays booked which may clash.Â
NB: It is compulsory for all students who are involved in jazz, lyrical/contemporary performance pieces to do at least one ballet class per week. (Excluding some senior students).
PRIVATE LESSONS - Students must attend at least 3 classes if they are having a private lesson and MUST be involved in the same style of class for the specific style of routine they are learning for their solo work. If for any reason your child is unable to attend their private lesson, please notify us via email so we can inform the teacher. All missed private lessons must be paid for. Please note: Teachers are not expected to take extra lessons out of their normal hours, therefore no private lessons can be made up if the student cannot or doesn’t attend their allotted lesson time. If the teacher has cancelled a private lesson, a make-up time can be arranged, if not you will be credited for the lesson at the start of the following term. Please note: Private lessons booked outside of term dates (during school holidays) will incur an additional fee.
END OF YEAR CONCERT - Our annual concert is held mid December and involves one dress rehearsal/photo session and one stage rehearsal which students must attend. A concert hand book will be emailed in Term 4 with all relevant information. A rehearsal fee per child is required in term 4 to cover costs involved with concert rehearsals. As our End of Year Concert is an important and exciting event to all students, we expect that at the commencement of Term 3, a commitment is given to stay on until the end of the year. This prevents the team’s hard work from going to waste.Â
COSTUMES - All students require a costume for our end year concert. Parents must be prepared to finance this and we endeavour to keep costs to a minimum. Costumes could vary in price from $65 Tiny Tots per costume, Sub-juniors per costume $75, Juniors per costume $85, Intermediates per costume $95, and seniors per costume $105. Concert Costume Fees are Non Refundable. All concert costumes will be ordered in term 3.

Alternatively, if you wish to pay the entire term in full it is required to be paid by the end of the first week of term. Any accounts left outstanding will incur a late fee of $15.00. All fees are invoiced by term.Â
All missed classes & private lessons must be paid for. (In the case of an extended holiday of 4 weeks or more, with ample notice the fees will be halved).
