Arafura Dance Association – Code of Conduct
These rules have been made so that everyone can learn in the best way possible and enjoy their dance classes.
Rules for Dance Students
· Concentrate
· Do what the teacher says
· Wait quietly while others are dancing or talking with the teacher.
· If you are corrected by the teacher don’t be upset. This is to help you.
· Support other class members: Don’t make fun of others.
· Try your best.
This is what happens if you don’t follow the rules:
· When you break a rule for the first time, you will have to sit out of class activities without talking to others.
· If you break a rule for the second time, your parents will be contacted.
· If the problem still keeps going, you will be asked to leave the class.
· Fees will not be refunded if you are asked to leave.
Rules for Parents/Guardians
· Encourage your child to take part in the dance/drama activity with full concentration.
· Encourage your child to support other class members.
· The Principal Teacher is in charge of dance classes and events.
· Check the notice board outside the dance area or facebook regularly. It is not always possible to get in touch with you personally to advise of late changes.
· Class time may also consist of practice for any exams and performances.
· Please respect class times. Parents are not permitted to enter classes during class time except on class viewing days.
· Drop your child off 5 minutes before class
· Parent help is a necessary requirement in order for the association to run successfully. Please volunteer your time when you can.
Grievance Procedure
· Please do not discuss any problems with the teacher during class time. An appointment should be made outside class time with the teacher or, alternatively, with a committee member.
· Only matters relating to your child's progress or behaviour in lessons should be raised with the teacher. All other concerns; such as fees, should be raised with a committee member.
· It is preferable that any significant concerns raised with the Committee be submitted in writing.
I have read and agree to follow the Arafura Dance Association Code of Conduct as set out above.
